Tomatoes 2023 – planted some Plum/Roma/Paste tomatoes and some Beefsteak variety for eating.
The early paste tomatoes seemed to be affected by bloom end rot and many had of them had a “rotting from the inside” disease when I cut into them. The tomatoes that ripened later were not affected by that issue. Picked the majority of the plum paste type tomatoes to make into sauce.
Decided not to do any regular canned tomatoes due to the number of 2022 canning efforts that were still in the pantry from last year 2022. Last year our garden tomatoes did not produce so I bought bushels from the local farm stand to have canned for chili and sauce. Need to use those up first.
